Ingredients
- Imli/Tamarind pulp – 1 cup
- Jaggery powder – ½ cup
- Asafetida/Hing – ¼ teaspoon
- Salt – 1 teaspoon (as per taste)
- Black salt – 1 teaspoon (as per taste)
- Cayenne pepper – ½ teaspoon (as per taste)
- Black pepper – ½ (freshly grounded)
- Cumin – 1 teaspoon ( Roasted)
- Raisins – 1 tablespoon
- Pine nuts – 5-6 (for garnishing)
Preparation time: 20-30 minutes
Instructions:
This chutney is very easy to make. To prepare this khatti mithi gur imli chutney, all you need to do is follow the instructions and your chutney is ready.
- Now, before starting the recipe, you need to prepare tamarind pulp
- For that, soak tamarind overnight in water then squeeze it with your hands to remove the pulp
- If you want to make it early, then you have to soak it in warm water for 2-3 hours
- Take a pan and heat it
- Add tamarind pulp and jaggery powder
- Let it cook for 8-10 minutes on medium flame
- Stir it continuously in between
- Make sure that the consistency of the syrup is thinner, as it will become thick when it cools
- Add asafetida, salt, black salt, cayenne pepper, black pepper, and roasted cumin
- Mix everything together
- Let it cook for 1-2 minutes
- Now add raisins and mix everything well
- Your khatti mithi gur imli chutney is ready
- Serve it in a bowl and top it with some pine nuts
