Getting along with millet might not be your expertise but it’s our expertise to make you love millet. We believe adding some vegetables can make it scrumptious. Millet is richer in protein and has a nice texture, making it a great substitute to rice. Adding some Schezwan sauce can make it even yummier. The preparation is really easy, and the dish is far superior to rice, so let’s get started.

Ingredients

  • Millet- ½ cup (Soaked overnight)
  • Onion- 1 medium (sliced)
  • Rock salt- 1 tablespoon
  • Red capsicum- ½ cup (chopped)
  • Yellow capsicum- ½ cup (chopped)
  • Carrot – ½ cup (chopped)
  • Schezwan sauce – 1 tablespoon

Instructions

  1. ·        Once it has been well washed, the millet should be soaked in water for 8 hours.
  2. ·        Boil the millet in one cup of water, and wait for the water to dry up
  3. ·        Take a pan or kadai, add the onion slices, and rock salt, (no oil), and saute for 1-2 minutes.
  4. ·        Add little water and roast well
  5. ·        Now add ½ cup red and yellow capsicum, ½ cup carrots, and mix well
  6. ·        Don’t cook too much, the vegetables should be crunchy
  7. ·        Now add boiled millet and mix well
  8. ·        Add 1 tablespoon schezwan sauce and mix well
  9. ·        Schezwan millet is ready, enjoy!
