Ingredients
- Idli rice- 1 cup (Soaked)
- Urad dal – ½ cup (Soaked)
- Baking soda – ½ teaspoon
- Salt- as per taste
- Carrot- 2 medium (grated)
- Water as required
Instructions
While rice provides a balanced combination of carbs and proteins in sufficient amounts to keep you hopping with health and energy throughout the day, carrot idli adds extra fiber as it is made with colorful shredded carrots.
1. Soak the rice and dal separately overnight.
2. Grind the soaked rice and dal to make a fine paste.
3. Cover the batter and leave for 5-6 hours for fermentation. The batter will expand by two times after fermentation.
4. Now grate carrots and mix them in the batter, add salt and baking soda.
5. Now add the batter in the idli molds

6. Now place the idli over the steamer and wait for 15-20 minutes.
7. Once steamed, let the idli cool for five minutes at room temperature.
8. After removing the idli, put them on a dish.
