Ingredients 

  • Chickpea flour- 1 cup
  • Salt – ½ teaspoon
  • Red chilli powder – ½ teaspoon 
  • Turmeric – ¼ teaspoon 
  • Coriander – 1 teaspoon 
  • Cumin powder – ½ teaspoon 
  • Jaggery powder – 1 tablespoon 
  • Tamarind syrup – 1 tablespoon 
  • Ginger – garlic paste – 1 teaspoon 
  • Arbi patta (Colocasia leaf) – 4 leaves 
  • Oil – 1 tablespoon 
  • Cumin seeds – 1 teaspoon 
  • Mustard seeds – 1 teaspoon
  • Sesame seeds – 2 teaspoon
  • Asafoetida (Heeng) – ¼ teaspoon 
  • Curry leaves – 8 to 10

Prep Time – 15-20 minutes

Cooking Time – 20 minutes 

Instructions

  1. First, take a mixing bowl
  2. Add chickpea flour to it
  3. Mix salt, red chilli powder, coriander powder, cumin powder and jaggery powder
  4. Now, add tamarind syrup for a tangy taste
  5. Add ginger garlic paste to it
  6. Now mix everything well 
  7. You can use a little water to make a smooth paste
  8. Make sure the paste is neither too thin nor too thick
  9. Now spread the paste evenly over leaves 
  10. Prepare four such leaves 
  11. Now, place them one over another facing opposite direction 
  12. Largest leaf should be at bottom 
  13. Gently roll the leaves together 
  14. Steam these rolls for 10 minutes 
  15. Let them cool down
  16. Cut the roll into 10-12 circular pieces 
  17. Now, we will work on tempering 
  18. Heat a pan and add 1 tablespoon oil to it
  19. Now add cumin and mustard seeds  
  20. Add sesame and astefoidea to bring rich flavour
  21. Let the spices splutter
  22. Now spread the spices evenly over the pan
  23. Now place aloo patra over it and toast them 
  24. Toast on both sides till they turn golden brown
  25. Your snack is ready to serve
