  • Masoor dal (Red Lentils) – 2 cups (sprouted)
  • Yellow pumpkin – 1 cup
  • For tempering
  • Coconut oil – ½ tablespoon
  • Cumin seeds – ½ teaspoon
  • Garlic – 2 to 3 (crushed)
  • Onion – 1 medium ( finely chopped)
  • Tomato – 1 medium (chopped)
  • Ginger – 1 teaspoon (crushed) 
  • Green chili – 1 (chopped)
  • Salt – ½  teaspoon
  • Cayenne powder – ½ teaspoon
  • Coriander powder – 2 teaspoons 
  • Water – ¼ cup 
  • Coriander leaves – ¼ cup 

Instructions to Cook Sprouted Masoor Dal

There are just a few steps you need to follow in order to make a perfect bowl of sprouted masoor dal, so here we go.

  1. Chop down yellow pumpkin 
  2. Boil the sprouted masoor dal and pumpkin together 
  3. Now heat a pan
  4. Add coconut oil 
  5. Add cumin seeds once the oil is hot enough
  6. Let the cumins splutter 
  7. Now add some crushed garlic and onion 
  8. Wait till the onions turn brown 
  9. Now add chopped tomatoes, green chili, and grated ginger for flavor 
  10. Sprinkle some salt 
  11. Wait for the tomatoes to turn soft 
  12. Add cayenne powder and coriander powder 
  13. Stir the ingredients and add some water to cook the spices 
  14. Now add the boiled dal and cook for two to three minutes 
  15. Turn off the flame and garnish with some coriander leaves 
  16. Your dal is ready to serve
